About
Us Family-Child Resources, Inc. has a long history
of strengthening and supporting families. We provide high-quality services
and products directly to families and schools, as well as to employers who wish
to support their employees in balancing their work and personal lives. Over the
past 39 years, we have become recognized nationally, statewide, and locally for
our comprehensive, client-focused services. We offer what is perhaps the largest
Parent Education Program in the state, serving hundreds of parents in courses
and workshops each year. We developed one of the earliest Elementary Student Support
Programs in the country for children who are coping with child abuse, foster placement,
substance abuse, divorce/separation, death or other trauma or changes in their
families. We have served as Consultants and Trainers for the Pennsylvania Department
of Education in the development and statewide implementation of Instructional
Support Teams (IST); many elements of our model have been incorporated into Pennsylvania's
IST model. We received the first grant in the state from the Pennsylvania
Commission on Crime and Delinquency to implement a model Bullying Prevention Program
and played a lead role in the state of Pennsylvania's statewide implementation.
Our organization was one of fewer than 10 in the country to develop a Perinatal
Coaching Program to provide support and education to new parents and prevent many
of the problems that lead to child abuse and neglect. We also spearheaded
a fatherhood initiative in York County to enhance the parenting skills of fathers
and increase the involvement of fathers in their children's lives. We offer
workshops, endorsed by the York County Court System, for families dealing with
child custody issues. We also provide counseling and assessment for children,
adolescents, and adults on a wide variety of issues. We provide the largest
Early Intervention program for families in York and Adams Counties who have children,
ages birth to 3 years, with special needs. Family-Child Resources, Inc. is
listed as 1 of 66 exemplary programs throughout the country in Programs to
Strengthen Families, published by the Family Resource Coalition, a respected
national organization, and as a model program in Making a Difference: Programs
That Work!, published by the Washington Health Foundation. Additionally,
we contribute to the community each year through our active involvement and leadership
in various professional organizations and in partnerships with area businesses.
Ongoing program review produces innovative program enhancements and new product
and service offerings. |
