In-Home Parenting of Infants
Kathy Petry, Program Coordinator

Are you a new parent?
Like most new parents, you want what is best for your new baby.
You might have some questions such as:
- What can my baby see and hear?
- How should I play with my baby?
- How can I get my baby to sleep?
- How can I comfort my baby when he cries?
- Is my baby getting enough to eat?
One of our trained "coaches" can provide you with the
information and support you need to answer these questions and get
off to a good start with your new baby.
A coach will help by:
- Sharing information about how new babies communicate their feelings
and needs.
- Showing you how to interact with your new baby.
- Talking to you about what your new baby is doing.
- Telling you about the abilities of new babies.
This program is offered to all parents of newborns in York County,
with priority given to first-time parents. A trained coach is provided
free at a convenient time in your own home. Visits are scheduled
during your new baby's first few months home from the hospital.
Each enrolled parent receives a free gift, home visits by
a coach and, if desired, free classes on parenting infants.
